BackOptimising Green Open Spaces and Planting Trees in Sampang

Surrounding communities benefits from green open spaces being provided, including improving air quality, promoting physical and mental health as well as fostering a sense of community and social cohesion. Our collaboration with SKK Migas has initiated revitalization for the Trunojoyo Monument Park in Sampang Regency, East Java.

By establishing the Sampang’s Zero-Kilometer monument and installing energy-efficient streetlights, we aim to optimize the utilization of green open spaces in the city and revitalize the park’s overall image and condition. This initiative aim to attract more visitors and potentially stimulating economic activity in the surrounding area. Long-term sustainability of the project is ensured through the handover of operation and maintenance responsibilities to the Sampang Regency Government.

Aligned with SKK Migas' Earth Day 2022 initiative, MedcoEnergi planted 555 Sonokembang trees (Pterocarpus indicus) at Trunojoyo Monument Park. This contribution builds upon our ongoing environmental commitment, as our Sampang asset has planted over 3,000 trees between 2021 and 2022.
