BackOrganic Aquaculture Program: From Upstream to Downstream

In 2010, the Company initiated an organic inland aquaculture program using the tarp pool method in several operational areas. This program was designed as a full-cycle initiative, starting with training and mentoring in pond construction, feed production, cultivation, and pest-disease control. The program successfully fostered a new downstream economic venture: a pecel lele (catfish-based dishes) restaurant and snacks made from catfish in Gajah Mati Village, Musi Banyuasin. Over time, program partner groups introduced an innovation in bio-feed production, reducing production costs by up to 30 percent. To strengthen the collaboration network among program groups, the Kolega Mesra cooperative was established in Babat Banyuasin Village, Banyuasin, along with network groups in other areas.
